2024 Zayed Award for Human Fraternity Ceremony

ABOUT THE EVENT

Indonesian organizations Nahdlatul Ulama and Muhammadiyah, Egyptian world-renowned cardiac surgeon Professor Sir Magdi Yacoub, and Chilean grassroots leader Sister Nelly Leon Correa, co-honorees of the Zayed Award for Human Fraternity 2024, were honored in a ceremony recognizing their efforts advancing human fraternity on February 5 at the Founder’s Memorial in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

The 2024 honorees were selected by an independent judging committee for their exceptional efforts in tackling complex societal challenges and promoting peaceful coexistence and solidarity among humanity at the international and grassroots levels.

The Zayed Award for Human Fraternity is an annual independent international award that recognizes people and entities of all backgrounds, anywhere in the world, who are working selflessly and tirelessly across divides to advance the timeless values of solidarity, integrity, fairness and optimism and create breakthroughs towards peaceful coexistence.

2024 Honorees

The honorees of the 2024 Zayed Award for Human Fraternity are: Organizations Nahdlatul Ulama & Muhammadiyah, Professor Sir Magdi Yacoub, and Sister Nelly Leon Correa

The Judging Committee

The independent judging committee is appointed by the Higher Committee of Human Fraternity. Each year, the judging committee is composed of a group of prominent figures in the area of peacebuilding and human coexistence.
